As a result of months of expedient preparations, Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. (RCH) was amongst the firsts in Hungary to receive a certificate demonstrating the successful performance of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS). The aims laid out within the frameworks of OHSAS
provide for a healthy, safe, high standard working environment that corresponds to employees' demands and also fully complies with work health and safety regulations. Imre Kovács, chairman of the Board of Directors officially accepted the certificate on behalf of Rail Cargo Hungaria on 15th October, from the chief auditor of Quality Austria, Rudolf Scharf. Helmut Pfeiffer, head of Group Management Systems represented Rail Cargo Austria at the ceremony, where Árpád Berecz head of the Department of Railway Safety and Protection, and Szilárd Neuschl, head of Quality Management System of Rail Cargo Hungaria were also present.
Acquiring the standard was a strategic step for Rail Cargo Hungaria. The company expects that the introduction and certification of the management system enhances its competitiveness, and strengthens the trust of its partners and clients, furthermore supports the unified presence of Rail Cargo Austria Group - and Rail Cargo Hungaria within it - both on the international and on the Hungarian markets.
