on .

Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. launched its Study Grant program in 2011 to support the most talented students of the Austrian School of Budapest for five consecutive academic years. The railway company regards the project as an enforcement of the traditionally good economic and cultural partnership relations between Hungary and Austria.

As an important step of the agreement concluded between the institution and the company, RCH will already support the studies of seven students for the 2013/14 academic year. The scholarship certificates were ceremonially presented in the Austrian School of Budapest on November 5th by Dr. Wolfgang Waldner, the ambassador of Austria in Budapest, and Dr. Imre Kovács, Chairman of the Board of Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt.

During the ceremonial presentation of the scholarship grants, held for the fourth time, Günther Kaiser, the school's principal said that "The Study Grant program of Rail Cargo Hungaria contributes significantly to the elevation of ours school's quality. We are currently in an upstream period, the better students we accept to our school, the higher the quality of education becomes. This improvement in quality affects the number of applicants, resulting in the fact that we are able to accept students with even better abilities. Since the financial support given by Rail Cargo Hungaria goes directly to the students, the company indirectly contributes good students to our school".

Dr. Imre Kovács, Chairman of the Board of Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt, as an initial thought of his speech emphasised: „Our company has a strategic investment policy. Among all investment opportunities, the one regarding the education of future generations is held by us in highest esteem. Rail Cargo Hungaria's most precious value is its colleagues' knowledge, experience and commitment. We are responsible for making these values happen. This is why we support gifted students already in secondary education, but also in higher education and practical training. This principle of Rail Cargo Hungaria is what generated the initiative founded four years ago, to support the gifted students of Austrian School of Budapest.
The ceremony ended with a musical performance by the students of the school.

The best students accepted to the school during admission procedures of the 2014/2015 academic year from the preparatory class will receive a 70 per cent tuition support in the form of a grant. Those students, who received a 70 per cent support during the academic years of 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014, will continue to receive a 25 per cent reduction from their tuition in the following years, if they were among the six best performing students of their class during the previous year. The remaining three scholarships for the academic year of 2014/2015 will be awarded by the school board at the end of the year, providing a 19 per cent support to tuitions of the deserving students.

About the Austrian School of Budapest
The Austrian School of Budapest is one of 7 Austrian Schools operating abroad, and is one of the most productive institutions among the high schools of the Hungarian capital. On the occasion of an international agreement, the school obliged itself to foster and deepen Austrian-Hungarian relations. During the 25 years of its existence, the institution produced students with fluent German knowledge, who were welcomed with open arms at companies and institutes communicating in German or having Austrian connections. Employing differentiated educational methods and providing additional opportunities for gifted students to help their educational advancement is of vital importance to a successful school. The responsibility of the students is to study, to which task the Study Grant Program of Rail Cargo Hungaria is a valuable motivational factor. The program highlights that school performance plays a key part in success.
